INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS

The projects showcased on this page go in line with my portfolio. There are a variety of projects that include hospitality design, residential design, and commercial design. The projects shown below were completed during my second and third year of studying through Vega. The variety shows my skill in different designs, and it showcases my passion - rendering.

KHAYA BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Hospitality Design

The main aim of the design was to create a “home away from home”, thus the hotel’s name is “Khaya” Boutique Hotel, Khaya is a Xhosa word that means home. The client has asked for a contemporary design that will attract a millennial urban crowd. The design achieves this through the modern aesthetic. The hotel is constructed from sustainable materials. SKIN AESTHETIC CLINIC
Hospitality Design

The main aim of this space was to create a clinical environment that facilitates healing. During the research phase, multiple elements were identified that can contribute to a healing space. Namely a homelike environment, access to and view of nature, light, acoustics, barrier-free environments, and room layout (DuBose et al., 2018). I tried to incorporate these elements into the design. The design is modern and makes use of contrasting elements. Click below.

INCLUSIVE HOME
Residential Design

The aim of the design was to renovate a home to accommodate the Jackson’s, Mr. Jackson is confined to a wheelchair and Mrs. Jackson has Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, it is vital to design a home that accommodates them – inclusive home. The aim of the design was to create a welcoming home for the Jackson’s. The theme of the house was inspired by a farmhouse. The space should be designed in such a way that it allows them to preform everyday tasks. Click below.

BOOKING.COM
Commercial Design

The main aim of this design was to incorporate Booking.com’s design ethos, each office showcases a country’s cultural identity. The brief was to choose a country to represent and to incorporate local artists and design in the space. For this brief, I chose to design an office based in Greece, as its famous colours, namely blues and whites, are in line with Booking.com’s corporate colours. Click below.
